Intended Audience:
This course will be of interest to physicians, orthotists, podiatrists, nurse specialists and other health care professionals working in the field of rehabilitation medicine and concerned with the care of the diabetic patient. It will be particularly useful for clinical teams.

Course Content:
The unique needs of the diabetic patient require a comprehensive and multidisciplinary team approach. The objective of this course is to give participants an overview of the risk factors contributing to diabetic foot problems and to examine approaches in managing these problems, in addition to finding practical solutions.

Participants will also learn about approaches to shoe design and related materials.

Participants will work together to review a number of case studies and there will also be some hands-on practical experience of casting a Scotch Cast Boot.
