What Do We Do?
Sharing Good Practice
Our main aims are to help support and spread good practice among podiatrists.
That is our priority.
At meetings we have regular presentations from a variety of health care professionals.
On this website we have information and links to sites on diabetes that will help Podiatrists to gain and spread knowledge about diabetic foot disease.
We're not trying to formally educate but to share experiences and learn through supporting and sharing with each other.
Contributing to and Commenting on National Guidelines
With so much going on in the world of diabetes the group will contribute to new Scottish Diabetes guidelines, protocols and standards. Podiatrists who are working at the ‘front line’ of patient care can meet to discuss and comment on national guidelines and protocols whilst they are at the ‘draft’ stage. Feedback to the Scottish Health Executive Department is via the Scottish Diabetes Group.
Peer Support
Meetings are always very busy but there are opportunities for members to have an informal chat about various diabetic foot care issues.
